IOT- significant revenue driver for telecom service provider Vodafone!

  The renowned telecom service provider Vodafone India is assessing the launch of a narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) network to cultivate more business, a top official said, and a move that will build it the second Telco after Reliance Jio Infocom to set up such a network in the country. Furthermore, Nick Gliddon, the director of Vodafone Business Services, commented that Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the greatest growing segments within its enterprise business, and India’s number 2 Telco is scheduling to present a global use cases to further grow the business in India having arranged for some smart city projects in Pune and Kolkata. “We have worked with several enterprises on myriad use cases for IoT… we can now deliver end-to-end solutions for the most demanding enterprise customers…we call this approach SuperIOT,’’ Gliddon said. ‘’Having launched Narrowband IOT in select European markets, we are evaluating it for the Indian market as well.’’ He then added that the Telco, which is merging operations with Idea Cellular, is estimating used cases for zones like automobiles, manufacturing, healthcare, retail, and smart cities for India
